HOW TO ORDER

​Due to recent events, we are implementing a change regarding the purchase and deposit process for live birds. Effective immediately, all payments—including deposits, balances, and full purchases—will only be accepted via personal check, money order, or bank-certified check. Please note that we no longer accept credit card payments online for birds, and apologize for any inconvenience. (credit, debit, applePay, cash, etc are all still accepted in store.)

When submitting payment, kindly include a note specifying the bird you are reserving. If the name on the check differs from your previous communications via text or email, please indicate this for clarity. please contact us via phone or email PRIOR to sending payment to discuss the baby you are wanting to reserve. reserves are first come, first served. if we don’t know you are interested in a particular bird, someone else could reserve them before your deposit arrives.

Please include a note or memo specifying which bird you are reserving, particularly if the name on the check differs from previous communications via text or email, so we can mark your reserve accordingly.

Important Ordering Details

  • Placing an order does not mean your bird is immediately available. Please contact us to discuss availability and estimated timelines before submitting any deposits.

  • We do not sell unweaned babies, ever. your bird will be available to go home once they are fully weaned (off formula) and are fully independent.

  • we do not, and will not, rush any bird through the weaning process. this is a natural process that each bird must go through to become a happy, healthy, and Well-adjusted bird. though they may be “old enough” to go home, each bird is an individual, and they may not be ready on a typical timeline.

  • A nonrefundable deposit of 50% of the bird’s purchase price is required to reserve a specific bird or secure a spot on our reservation list.

  • If shipping is required, the flat-rate live animal shipping fee is $89.99.

  • Shipping is weather-dependent, with safe transport occurring only when temperatures range between 50°F–90°F. Please consider seasonal weather conditions when planning your purchase.

Reason for This Change

Unfortunately, there have been multiple instances where customers have filed chargebacks with their credit card companies after receiving their birds. These disputes negatively impact our small business, harm our reputation, and most concerningly, put the welfare of our birds at risk.

While we can, and have, contested chargebacks, the process is largely automated and does not account for the distinction between a live animal and a standard retail product. Despite providing thorough documentation, we have still lost disputes at the discretion of the credit card companies. Accepting checks provides an added layer of security—for both our business and the birds in our care.
